Hey guys. Not much progress on the ending to the Pathway Through Newgrounds trilogy. But that's not what this news post is about, it is about NG Collabs.

NG Collabs was once a very popular forum, where members from Newgrounds who didn't have a high enough BA would create their collabs. We had an awesome community and some extremely talented members.

But lately, things have changed. It has lost many members due to the forums moving all of the time. Collabs are not really being made, and NGC is dieing.

Some of you may recognize me as one of the two authors who created the Pathway Through Newgrounds trilogy, which has won 6th place on Pico Day, and 12th place on Madness Day.

I can tell you right now, that the idea for the series was actually first created while CalcoA and I were creating our parts for a collab over at NGC. It involved a person jumping through a movie-frame, and then changing from one style of animation, to another. This is where Pathway Through Newgrounds began.

I'm telling you all of this, because NGC is very important to me. Without that collab, I never would have won any of those contests, and I never would have felt so good about my own creations.

NGC was once an AWESOME site, and I'm asking you to join up. It's a great place for people who don't have time to animate full-length animations, and want to test out their skills. I've learned SO MANY techniques from that site, that I could never list them all.

NG Collabs

I need to make a new news post. :P

So things are finally starting to fall into plan. CalcoA is at my house right now, and we're deciding a bunch of things for the final Pathway Through Newgrounds.

The name is simply going to be - Finale: PathwayThroughNG. It's pretty obvious why we're calling it that.

Our plan is to have the entire plot figured out by October 15th, and the storyboard and scripts to be done by Halloween. I'm going to start animating as soon as possible, because we have less than 7 months to finish the first half.

We've already come up with some pretty amazing ideas, and are hoping to feature many more celebrity guests. I've got a list here of about... 20 different series on Newgrounds that are going to be main features. We will be deciding a list of some smaller series that will only appear in short amounts of time.

Right now I'm saving up money so I can buy a new computer that will be able to export the flash. I'm probably going to be spending about $1000 just to make this flash, so you can see the dedication right there.

This really isn't about the money or the contests. We just want to show Newgrounds that we DO have talent, and that we CAN create a successful series to be loved by many. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't win anything. :P

So yeah, we've decided quite a few things and gave out some great ideas, that will hopefully make your jaw drop. CalcoA is looking into buying a tablet to make things easier on him for animating.

We're thinking about filling up a wall with a huge storyboard, so we can checks things off that have been finished, and decide who does which parts.

Now, I won't be doing as many updates as I did for Madness Day. I'll probably give you an update every month about how things are coming along.

Once again: Both parts will be around 15 minutes long to create a half-hour epic. Next update will probably be on Halloween. Thanks for reading!

Well, for everyone who actually watched Madness: Pathway Through Newgrounds, I'm sure you've noticed the "to be concluded" at the end.

I know most people probably hate me for that, but here's the good news:

The 3rd Pathway Through Newgrounds will be 30 minutes in length (possibly more). It will be cut into two parts. The first part will be submitted Pico Day, 2008, and the second part will be submitted Madness Day, 2008.

We already have many, MANY ideas planned. This time, calcoA will be doing much more than just 10 seconds of animation. This one will probably be equal amounts of animation between the two of us.

So the parts will probably be 15 minutes each. Cut right down the middle.

Any suggestions on what you would like to see in it would be great. =D

Okay. I have approximately 3 minutes of animation to do in the next 6 days. I also have school for 5 of those days. Think I can do it? To be honest, I don't think I can.

Tankmen should be pretty easy, and should only take about 2 days tops to animate, once I get the voices (any time now).

Blockhead is my main concern. It's seriously going to be a miracle if I actually finish the Blockhead scene. I've been so incredibly lazy lately, and school has been getting in the way.

My stupid teachers keep giving me huge projects and tests. I have two big projects, and another assignment all due tomorrow.

Instead of posting the progress bar, that list will be the new progress bar. I will be updating it whenever I finish something. So check back once a day to see how things are going.

A little encouragement to finish might help me out a bit too. ;)

I'm back with another update!

I don't have very much to say this time around. I still haven't gotten any voices for Tankmen from Michael Swain.

It is the 6th right now, so I have 16 days to finish, think I can do it? I think I can. I will be finishing the Blockhead scene this weekend. No excuses this time, I HAVE to finish.

I'll start gathering Tankmen graphics throughout all of next week (character designs, backgrounds, etc.) and if Swain gets me the voices, I should have them all ready in an .fla so I can start animating.

Animation for Tankmen will start next Friday (once again, if I have the voices) and it should only take the weekend to finish it.

Then throughout that week, I will finish the last of the extras, the menu, and the scene select.

That's about everything. Check out the Progress Bar, and maybe the Foamy scene will surprise you. (The progress bar is a blatant ripoff of Adam Phillips Woodenblog)

Hey everyone, I'm back again with another update.

Things have been a little bit hectic lately, what with babysitting, preparing for school, AND animating this thing. =\

So I haven't had as much time to work on it as I had hoped to. Hopefully the long weekend will change that. I plan to finish the Blockhead scene then.

I'm still waiting on Swain to finish the Tankmen voices, but in the mean time I will finish the Blockhead scene, and get graphics for Tankmen (such as character designs, and background). I'll also work to finish the last little detail on the credits that I have to do before it turns red.

I'm still aiming for a September 15th release. Which might not be likely by the way things are going. If I have to submit it ON Madness day, which is exactly one week later, then so be it. A lot of people somehow know about me making it (real life, not internet) so I need to finish for them now too.

I just started school TODAY, so progress MIGHT be a bit slower from now on. Hopefully Tankmen will be a breeze since it's mostly voice acting and a bit of character animation.

I've been really worn out lately, staying up for like 30 hours straight, and usually only 6 hours are used to animate. Plus now I have school so the most I'll be able to animate is 6 hours a day.

I might have to remove Foamy from the flash. CalcoA has barely done ANY work on it. I'll try and talk him into it, but if not, he will be removed from the credits and Foamy will not be put into the final .fla. I'm sorry for anyone who is a fan of Foamy and was looking forward to that particular part. It was only going to be a quick 10 second scene anyways.

Back again with another update!

WELL, progress WAS going good, until a lot of things got in the way, such as work and babysitting and things like that.

I've done about 12 seconds of the Blockhead scene, and that's WITHOUT backgrounds. I plan to work on it all day today to get atleast the first 45 seconds of animation done. (possibly including backgrounds)

TheSwain is going to be doing the Tankmen voices for me, which shouldn't take TOO long to animate (considering it's not all FBF redrawn every frame animation).

I'm TRYING to get the entire thing done by August 29th. But that will most likely not be happening.

Upon receiving the Madness Preloader, I have edited it to make it a little cooler... (haha)

I still haven't heard anything from calcoA about Foamy. I'm sure he's almost done though. Perhaps I should phone him later today to make sure.

Next week I'll post some screenshots, and possibly what the preloader looks like.

Well, I have been working PRETTY hard on my upcoming Madness Day flash 'Madness: Pathway Through Newgrounds' and I must say, everything is working out.

So as I announced in my last news post, calcoA is now on board and will be animating two of the scenes. (I might have to take over one of them if works gets in his way)

So we have decided on all of the series that the flash will be parodying. They are, Blockhead, Foamy, Talking to Strangers, Tankmen, and of course, Madness. (as you can see in the pic at the bottom)

I'm hoping to finish the first half of the Blockhead scene within the next 5-6 days.

Right now, the length is at 2 minutes and 42 seconds. It should end up around 8 minutes including credits when finished. There is also a PREVIEW for it here: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/

I am starting work on Madness: Pathway Through Newgrounds (a sequel to PicoDay: Pathway Through NG), and I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions for some series to parody in it.

So far, the only series that have been decided are Blockhead, and of course, Madness.

Series that I would like you to NOT suggest are:

-Pico
-Unforgotten Realms
-Weebl and Bob
-College University
-X-Men
-SMBZ
-There She Is
-Bad Guys
-Clocks

Because they have all been done in the first episode of Pathway Through NG.

I'm looking mainly for series that DO NOT have voice acting, just because I don't want to have to go through the process of waiting for voices to come in. There is less than two months until Madness Day, so I would like to get working on it as soon as possible.

It doesn't exactly have to be a series either, it could be a very popular animation on NG also. Just as long as it's very well known.
